With 27,114 new coronavirus cases on Jul 11 2020, India now has registered a total of 8,20,916 COVID-19 infections across the country. This includes 519 new deaths which have taken the total count to 22,123. The total number of coronavirus cases also includes 5,15,386 people who have recovered and 2,83,407 who are currently being treated. There were 27,114 new active cases and 19,873 new recovered cases on Jul 11 2020. The data for this was released by the Union Health Ministry at 5:30 am
According to the latest numbers, Maharashtra has the highest number of coronavirus cases at 2,38,461. Of this 1,05,836 are active, 1,32,625 are recovered and 9,893 have died. Tamil Nadu and Delhi are next with 1,30,261 and 1,09,140 total COVID-19 cases respectively. Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Meghalaya have the lowest number coronavirus cases with 134, 156 and 207 respectively.
India currently has a fatality rate of 2.79 per cent due to coronavirus. The government has said more than 70 per cent of the people recover from COVID-19 with mild or very mild symptoms. Such cases may not even require admission to COVID-19 blocks or dedicated hospitals, the Health Ministry said.
Across the world, there have been a total of 1,24,93,451 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to the latest update. This includes 50,58,620 people who are being treated, 68,74,690 who have recovered and 5,60,141 who have died.
