The S&P BSE Sensex index jumped 391.14 points - or 0.88 per cent - to touch an all-time high of 45,023.79, whereas whereas the broader NSE Nifty 50 benchmark surged to a record 13,248.75, adding 114.85 points - or 0.87 per cent - to its previous close. A surge in global share markets on optimism on a fast recovery from the coronavirus-caused slowdown supported investor sentiment.
